Digital Competencies for Science Teaching: Adapting the DiKoLAN Framework to Teacher Education in Switzerland

Prospective teachers need both general and subject-specific digital competencies. However, available competency frameworks usually address only non-subject-specific Although the joint framework curriculum of German-speaking cantons Switzerland not provides a comprehensive definition expected student competencies, but also suggestions for linking them to implementing in subject lessons, there is still no integral planning structuring teacher training canton Thurgau. For curricular design promotion three study programs Primary level, Secondary level 1, 2 at Thurgau University Education were derived expert interviews based on DiKoLAN (Digital Competencies Teaching Science Education). While are significant overlaps, original reference clearly needs be adapted. Furthermore, important commonalities between newly formed individual frameworks. The methodological approach has proven fruitful recommended follow-up studies with similar research questions imitation.
